This is Zena - a true warrior princess! This special little girl is going to need a patient and loving home. She is making tremendous progress! A little about Zena. She is a 2 year old Boerboel (African Mastiff). She is a little on the smaller side (70 lbs +/-) for a Mastiff. She is a little skittish with loud noises and fast movements but as things become more familiar she has been adjusting well. Zena is SUPER sweet & affectionate! She is still growing her confidence and it would be best if she is placed with another dog in the house and a fenced yard (preferred but not required). She loves to run but can not be off leash at this time in an unsecured area. She loves balls, bones, other dogs, and doesnt bother the cat! Whoever adopts her should have a very stable dog at home as Zena is a follower of behavior. Whatever habits your dog has, she will mimic. Zena knows "crate" and has been the first dog to go to bed at night as she runs to her crate for a treat. She is always waggin her tail and loves to give kisses. She even nudges you when she wants more petting. She is a great dog and will make someone who is willing to invest the time a very happy owner. 11/15/11: Zena is currently enrolled in obedience classes and is doing great! She goes to school twice a week and loves going for car rides now. Going to school means lots of treats! She has learned sit, down and when you stop walking she sits down. This is a tremendous improvement for a dog that was once afraid of the leash. Zena is shy at first in the outside world but when she is at home in her own environment she is a totally normal dog.
