Sweet Waffles was born into the world of shelters. Golden Retrievers have naturally loving temperaments, as they come from breeds of dogs known to be ideal family dogs, yet they have never known the luxuries most dogs take for granted. He has never had a home, his own people, evening walks, his very own toys, a yard in which to play. He doesn't even know to dream about these things. He is full of love, life, and healthy. Maybe you will be the one to show him what it's like to be loved. What you would get back would be more thean you could ever imagine. He is waiting to give away his heart, ready to be your very own all the days of his life.  Life will be good either way! He will make wonderful family dog, or companion for an individual. Picture him playing in your yard, chasing a ball, or curled up at your feet at night. Think about going hiking with him, swimming, morning walks. The best part of Waffles is that he will make you laugh each and every day. His face is an amazing combo of golden and terrier, with the frizzy hair on top and on his muzzle and adorable whiskers separating the two. Really, we think he could win a contest! If you need fun in your life, Waffles will surely supply it.  And make no mistake, he will know that it was you who came for him and saved him.

UPDATE FROM HIS FOSTER;

When he first came to us, we pulled up to meet another rescuer and he was the first and only up and ready to say hi and get out of the crate! wagging tail immediately.  First he was so skinny his hip bones stuck out like a bily goats do, as well as his rib cage and leg bones. He wants to please you and looks for your direction to what you want him to do even when we are not working with him. He follows my husbands commands as well as mine, he is very smart and clever! He is great with cats, dogs & children..He is submissive to other dogs, will give up food or roll on back to avoid a fight but is still playful and loves to interact with other dogs. He still gets so excited when he first sees you again and will jump up but hes still got alot of puppy in him and he's learning. He is almost potty trained (or maybe they just trained me?) but its not often theres an accident and its usually always just pee, so almost there too! NO accidents at night and he is confined to small area but not crated, so he has the option but he never does, he is one of the first at the back door waiting to go out in the mornings. As far as how skinny he was, he is not skinny anymore, he is very healthy, lol He is a good eater but not a piggy, and he loves treats. He is a snuggler as well, he loves to be in your lap or give hugs. He knows sit, stay, down,kisses, and "too rough" if mouthing. I hope this isnt too long, but just want to pass on anything that might help him adjust, like i said he is a great dog and will make a family very happy!
