Description:
Brief description: Karma is a 10 month old mastiff mix (½ Boerbel, ½ Bernese Mountain Dog). She was surrendered to us due to no fault of her own. Likes: Smiling, following you everywhere, leaning on you, getting belly rubs, toys Dislikes: people food, going into her crate--she’d rather stay out and play! Personality: Karma is a ham! Always smiling, always goofy. She loves to be around people and creatures. And she still has plenty of puppy energy. Temperament: Karma was only reserved around her foster family for the first hour, and then she moved right in. She craves attention, and will whine if left alone in her crate. Her obedience skills are good--she knows lots of commands. She does possess the typical mastiff stubbornness, and likes to lay down and roll over on her back when you tell her to go her crate. She is submissive toward other dogs. Energy level: High. Karma is a growing pup at only 10 months old, and she still gets the zoomies just like any other puppy. She’ll trot around the house, then pass out under the table and take a nap for 10 minutes, only to be right back up and ready to play again. Favorite activities : leaning against people and getting snuggles Good with cats, dogs, and kids over 6?: Karma is a rock star around other animals. She sniffed our two cats, and then left them alone. She sniffed our ferret through the cage bars, and then has shown little interest. And she is submissive to our two dogs, one larger and one smaller. She is also good about following commands that come from my 9 and 13 year olds. Not good with: keeping her crate bedding in one piece; she delights in shredding them Housetrained: yes Crate trained: yes Challenges: Karma has a lot of energy in a growing body. She’s already about 100lbs, and will get substantially larger. She needs structure and an experienced owner to harness that wiggly energy into tasks (fetching a ball, walks, etc). She still feels insecure about being left alone in a crate, and will whine until you let her out. Any Medical issues? Karma loves the vet...new people who can pet her! Her spay surgery is scheduled, and as soon as she heals, she’ll be ready for her forever home. What would be the best kind of home? Karma would benefit from an experienced giant breed owner who is willing to keep a demand on even if she gives resistance. She’s a social butterfly, and would do best in a home with another dog to be her buddy. She is a total sweetheart!
Fostered in Cherry Hill, NJ.
