Description:

Gator came to us because she was a living with a family who wanted her out immediately. They opened the door, let her outside, and shut the door. Let's skip the part about owner irresponsibility, etc. So Gator finds herself homeless. No fault of her own. This dog is literally perfect. Big and small dog friendly, loves cats, loves people, loves car rides, sleeps in a crate and is house trained. At 105 pounds she fit nicely into our motley crew. So instead of her ending up at a shelter, passed over by visitors and eventually euthanized this perfect dog has the chance to find a forever family where she can be loved and will offer years of companionship and joy to others.

Gator was adopted out and we were thrilled! However, she has found herself up for adoption again. She was returned for being too “needy in her way to be constantly underfoot”. They had just adopted her the night before and didn’t even give her a chance. Apparently her adopter doesn’t understand that Mastiffs are Velcro dogs and love to be with you. Gator is a perfect example of that!

We were heartbroken to hear of her return, as her foster mom described her as perfect!

She’s being fostering in Hagerstown, Maryland.
